Tim Patrick, WR

Player News:
Patrick re-signed with Detroit on Friday.
Analysis:
The Lions signed Patrick to their practice squad in August, shortly after he was released by the Broncos. He ended up handling the No. 3 receiver role for most of the season, catching 33 of 44 targets for 394 yards and three TDs in 16 regular-season games. A return to mainstream fantasy relevance is highly unlikely for the 31-year-old, but he should at least compete for the third or fourth WR spot in Detroit again.

Pharaoh Brown, TE

Player News:
The Dolphins signed Brown to a contract Friday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
Brown is an experienced veteran tight end with proven capabilities as a rotational blocker. He handled such a role across 15 regular-season appearances with the Seahawks in 2024, averaging 16.3 offensive snaps per game while drawing only 12 total targets. That skillset fills an area of need for Miami, with Durham Smythe having departed for Chicago in free agency.

Bailey Zappe, QB
Published:
Friday, March 14, 2025 11:10 AM
Player News:
The Chiefs signed Zappe to a one-year contract Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis:
Zappe spent time as a reserve option at quarterback for Cleveland in 2024, completing 16 of 31 passes for 170 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in his lone spot start. With Gardner Minshew (collarbone) the clear favorite to back up Patrick Mahomes after signing with Kanas City on Thursday, Zappe finds himself once again competing for a third-string or reserve spot. The Chiefs also have Chris Oladokun on the roster.

Cooper Kupp, WR
Published:
Friday, March 14, 2025 9:44 AM
Player News:
David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports that the Cowboys aren't in the mix to sign Kupp, despite ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting otherwise Friday morning.
Analysis:
Schefter referred to the Cowboys as a "sleeper team that has emerged and is now making a push" to sign Kupp, while Moore says "it won't happen" after talking to a person with "knowledge of the club's thinking." We may never know which report was accurate, unless, of course, Kupp ends up signing with the Cowboys. Other reports have suggested a number of teams are interested, which makes sense given the weak free-agent crop of wide receivers. Kupp turns 32 in June and hasn't played more than 12 regular-season games in a year since 2021, but he should at least remain useful as a possession receiver for another year or three.

Cooper Kupp, WR
Published:
Friday, March 14, 2025 9:14 AM
Player News:
The Cowboys are pushing to sign Kupp, would may decide on his next team as soon as Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis:
The Rams released Kupp on Wednesday, with subsequent reports suggesting numerous teams are interested in signing him. That's no surprise, considering he mostly remained productive when he wasn't injured last year and now becomes arguably the top WR in an extremely weak free-agent class. On the other hand, he'll turn 32 this summer, missed at least five games each of the past three seasons, and finished 2024 with career lows of 10.6 yards per catch and 7.1 yards per target. There's also the matter of his best fit being the slot, where CeeDee Lamb has done a large portion of his damage in recent years. Granted, that's a better problem than the Cowboys' current problem of not having enough talent alongside Lamb.

Miles Sanders, RB
Published:
Friday, March 14, 2025 12:13 AM
Player News:
Sanders is slated to sign a one-year deal with the Cowboys, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
The Panthers released Sanders on Tuesday after he had a pair of disappointing seasons with the team. He'll now join the Cowboys looking to revitalize his career, and he should have the chance to capture a decent workload as the roster is currently constructed. Javonte Williams is the only other back on the depth chart capable of carrying a traditional workload, though Sanders' fantasy potential won't become clear until after the NFL Draft in late April.

Kyle Allen, QB
Published:
Thursday, March 13, 2025 9:15 PM
Player News:
Allen agreed to terms with the Lions on Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis:
Allen spent the 2024 season with Pittsburgh and operated as their emergency quarterback for most of the campaign. He'll now join the Lions' quarterback room as an experienced backup, and he will likely compete with Hendon Hooker for the No. 2 job to Jared Goff.

Taylor Heinicke, QB
Published:
Thursday, March 13, 2025 8:59 PM
Player News:
Heinicke signed a one-year contract worth up to $6.2 million with the Chargers on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis:
Heinicke spent the 2024 season with the Chargers as the backup to Justin Herbert but played only 22 offensive snaps while attempting five passes. He's spent parts of a few seasons as a starter and will once again be one of the more competent backups in the league.

Spencer Shrader, K
Published:
Thursday, March 13, 2025 8:50 PM
Player News:
Shrader signed a two-year deal with the Colts on Thursday.
Analysis:
Shrader had a whirlwind rookie season, as he appeared in games for the Colts, Chiefs and Jets. In total, he went 5-for-5 on field-goal attempts and converted all nine of his extra-point attempts across four games. Per James Boyd of The Athletic, Shrader will compete with Matt Gay for the kicker job this summer.

Nick Bellore, LB
Published:
Thursday, March 13, 2025 7:57 PM
Player News:
Bellore re-signed with the Commanders for two more years Thursday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
The veteran special teamer made 21 tackles (11 solo) in 2024. He saw 333 snaps on special teams and just seven on defense. Bellore has played more on defense than special teams in just one of his 14 NFL seasons.
